Reykjavik, 5/12: The Alþingshúsið (House of Parliament)

The parliament building - current home of the worlds oldest continuously serving democratic parliament - is a very unassuming, plain building - especially when contrasted with the natural beauty of Žingvellir, the outdoor site at which parliament met from 930AD until the 18th century when the current building was built.
